Deep Dive Art Projects is pleased to celebrate a Spring show with Working Systems, featuring new works on paper by Corrie Slawson. The exhibition will run through Saturday, June 20th at the Deep End's Viewing Room in the Waterloo Arts District.

Slawson’s work engages a matrix of social, political, environmental, and cultural concerns. Recently, her drawings and paintings have yielded a body of mixed media paintings focused largely on the interior of the body. A master printmaker and painter, Slawson combines elements of screenprinting and other techniques with dreamy painted narratives. In many cases, the works on paper begin as contact prints from early stages of her oil paintings. By transferring the paint onto paper, the artist creates an entirely different way to explore her own imagery.

Born, raised, and currently living in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Following her B.F.A. in painting at Parsons School of Design in New York City, Corrie earned her M.F.A. in painting at Kent State University. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and internationally, and is included in several significant public and private collections. She is the co-founder of Ping Pong Press Studio, and has participated in international residency programs, including the Dresden Residency Exchange through Zygote Press. She is represented by Shaheen Modern and Contemporary Art in Cleveland.
